Restoring Northwest Ohio's Wetlands, with Eric Kraus
Saturday, August 19, 2017
7pm, Secor Room, Secor Metropark

Eric Kraus is the the founder and President of Standing Rush, LLC. In February 2015, Standing Rush secured just over 600 acres of land and water located on the south shore of Sandusky Bay.  Over the past two years, the company has been working with public and private partners to restore the marsh on this property.  You can read about Eric's efforts here:  http://standingrush.blogspot.com/

Eric holds a B.S. in Biology with an emphasis in aquatic ecology from St. John's University (MN) and has nearly 20 years of professional experience in and related to environmental consulting, fish and wildlife management, aquatic ecology, wetland permitting, restoration ecology, botany, and land conservation.  Born and raised in northwest Ohio (Maumee), Eric was knee-deep in water and mud from the time he could walk. Fishing was his first love, but if it was outside, he was game. He still is. Eric now resides in Perrysburg, Ohio with his wife, daughter, and three sons.

Butterfly Bonanza

Wintergarden Park has a fantastic meadow with a good variety of butterflies.  Last August over a hundred butterflies of more than a dozen species were counted.  Hopefully we will be just as lucky.  Binoculars and field guides are helpful but not necessary.  Join leader Karen Mitchell at Wintergarden Park/St John's Nature Preserve, 615 S Wintergarden Road, Bowling Green.< ="Wintergarden Park has a fantastic meadow with a good variety of butterflies.
