Please note: TNA’s monthly programs for 2018 have moved to the Ward Pavilion at Wildwood Metropark.

Our Big Year - Karen and Warren Leow - monthly program

Our own Karen and Warren Leow will regale us with stories from their recent Big Birding Year, during which they traveled from coast to coast in search of as many bird species as they could find. You're probably already wondering how many they ended up with, aren't you? You'll find out at this sure-to-be-entertaining program.

When: Thursday, April 19, 2018, 7:00 pm

Where: Ward Pavilion at Wildwood Metropark, 4830 Central Avenue, Toledo.
Our Downtown Marsh - field trip

Come out for an early preview of Manhattan Marsh, which will soon become one of our newest Metroparks.  Join Natural Resources Supervisor Denis Franklin for a walk around the 70 acre site and learn the details about how the Metroparks plan to turn this degraded marsh into a functional wetland and learning laboratory for both the public and the students at the Chase STEMM Academy. While it is already a decent birding location, this former estuary of Swan Creek has incredible potential to become a real focal point for the revitalization of this community. Parking is available in the Chase Academy lot at 600 Bassett St.

When: Saturday, April 21, 9:00-11:00 am (Changed from original date of April 28)

Where: Manhattan Marsh

Urban Birding II: Swan Creek Metropark - field trip

Spring migration has several waves.  We’re hoping this late April trip will be timed well for some of our earlier migrant song birds. Nate Koszycki led this successful trip last year.  He knows Swan Creek Metropark like the back of his hand. Meet Nate at the Swan Creek Window on Wildlife at 8am.

When: Sunday, April 29, 2018, 8:00-11:00 am

Where: Swan Creek Metropark, 4659 Airport Hwy, Toledo
