Amongst the cold and (north) breezy day along the (Maumee) Bay and Lake (Erie) on Sat, at least it didn't rain/shower.  I started at Cullen Park at 8:00 and worked my way east and finished just south of Magee Marsh in the ag-field roads at 5:00.  Had to work at it, but 91 species was a decent 'day list'.  9 warbler, 8 shorebird, 6 duck species; only 4 raptor species.  Highlight was a long look at a Sora, at the edge of the parking lot, at the 'bend/corner' of the Metzger road.  (Dale Buchner and his birding partner had JUST missed it)  It looked like some feral cats may have flushed it out, from the west side of the lot.  After about 2 minutes, the Sora safely went down into the marsh out of view.
Lesser B-B Gull (second year) and Caspian and Forster's Terns were at Maumee Bay SP.  but found no Boneparte's Gulls on the day.

May migration is just beginning!  Good Birding, folks!   :-)

Good seeing you again Paul. The last Bonnie I have seen was the week before on the pier at Metzgers. No luck since then. we had a Rough Legged Hawk at Magee. Not sure if that was one of your raptor species. It was hunting on the west side of the causway

Good seeing you too, Dale - no, I did/have not seen a Rough-legged Hawk all this last season - NICE one!
