A flock of about 44 White Pelicans flew west high over the causeway, heading to Magee boardwalk.  Few migrants, and nothing unusual amongst 11 warbler species - but looking at warblers there and having the boardwalk completely to myself for the first hour sure felt, well, different.

One lone spot with barely any mudflat area on the Ottawa NWR auto route hosted about 20 Long-billed Dowitchers and about 10 Short-billed - relying mostly on rusty-and-black barring on undertail coverts, but some birds HAD to be female Long-billed based on bill length.

A juvenile Western Sandpiper was amongst some Sanderlings and Ruddy Turnstones, at the tiny beach off outer dike at Metzger Marsh.

Good Birding,
