This morning, 3/15, I watched a single Bank swallow forage low over the river with 2 Tree swallows, just upstream from Otsego Rapids. This is exceptionally early for this species. Birds of the Toledo Area (2002) lists the earliest spring arrival date as April 12; hard to believe there would be many, if any, local records prior to March 15. But I'll let Matt A weigh in on that.

Tom, that trult is amazingly early! The previous earliest local record of which I’m aware was from March 31, 2007 (3 at Weirs Rapids, Paul Chad and Dennis Johns).
