Gulls are starting to congregate on the Maumee River. Today, Jan 15, around 1000 gulls were at Otsego Rapids, the only area I checked. This week at that spot there have been 2 Iceland gulls, both black-backed gulls, and numerous Herring and Ring-billed. I haven't seen a Glaucous yet but I suspect someone will soon. The expected cold weather in the next week should freeze much of the river, concentrating the birds near rapids. Gull watching should get even better if that happens. Stay tuned,

Tom
