Despite frigid temperatures, biting wind, slippery roads, and snow squalls, the dedicated observers on the Dec 30 GR-Waterville CBC found a most respectable 79 species. Highlights were several flocks of Sandhill cranes, Golden eagle, Iceland gull, Long-eared owl, Merlin, Ruby-crowned kinglet, and Rusty blackbird. Special thanks to Laura for cooking up some delicious food for the countdown. More details later when I have all the results added up.
