Looks like a Swamp Darner. Was it injured?

Some of your text appears to be covered by the bottom of the photo.

Thanks Rick. I think It was Ok.  I picked it up after a bird dropped it. I then placed it on a leaf for the picture and it flew off under its own power and seemed fine. The abdomen looked a little distorted, but I hope it was fine. I tried to fix the text too.

Dragonflies and damselflies of Ohio field guide range map does not have a Lucas count record. This was defiantly in Lucas county.

Swamp Darner was added to the Lucas County list around 2007 or 2008 at Magee, and it's seen and documented every year now in multiple places in Lucas. Great bug!

Nice find and shot. It is nice to see the detail in the markings. I tried for a couple pics of one a few weeks ago but not nearly so nice as this.

Those are just impressive bugs.  I first noticed the one Dale photographed at Irwin from across the grass lake prairie, probably 100 meters away before it flew over to where we were at.  Seeing your picture makes me really want to get a macro head shot.  Nice pic!
