Here are a couple more shots of the Conneaut Black-headed gull taken on 11/25. Thanks to Joe Hildreth for spotting the bird.
Here the bird is stretching and the underwing pattern is visible. |

Is it a Black-headed gull because it has a red beak? Who names these critters, anyways!

The black-headed gull is an old world species. In breeding plumage it is dark headed. Notice I said dark headed. It's hood is actually a deep brown, not black. I have no idea who named it, but I do believe they had problems with colors
