I flushed a bird this afternoon in the flooded fields at the CVNP grasslands several times but never got a good enough view for a positive ID.  I'm thinking Least Sandpiper, is this even reasonable?

The bird would flush but hold tight to the cover.  It would fly about 25 feet upon flushing at grass stalk height before diving back into the cover always staying near near the flooded area of the field.  It was smaller than a Killdeer but had that same basic kind of look.  From the rear (most of the looks was in this direction) you would see a lot of white on the body and very dark wings.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I didn't see any Wilson's Snipe afternoon.  I have seen them several times over the last year, quite a show to watch them flush and circle overhead.   I also saw two Eastern Meadowlarks.
