This Thu AM Mar 8, a friend here at the office took a photo (not included) of a Snowy Owl on a utility pole at Poe and Dunbridge roads here in Bowling Green.

Good Birding, folks!

I located the Snowy Owl at about 6:45 pm in about the same location as reported by Paul. It flew south and I located it again on an electrical pole on the east side of Dunbridge Road just north of the Meijer Gas Station/Wooster Street.

I went over to look for the Snowy myself today Sat, and found the owl at 3:30 about 1/2 mile east of Dunbridge Rd, on the ground just off a two-track road about a mile north of Poe Rd.

We went out late and drove around the block where Paul saw the bird, without any luck.  Then at dusk Becky saw it land on top of a power pole along Poe Rd. crossing I75.  The owl flew from he direction of the Wastewater Treatment Plant.  I wonder if it is picking off mallards from the settling tanks?

The Snowy Owl was seen again this morning along the gravel road (CR 253/Gallier Rd) that runs east from Dunbridge Rd.  about 1/2 mile  north of Poe Rd.  It was sitting on the ground in the shade of a corn bale.  I spoke to the woman who owns that piece of farmland and she had quite a show earlier in the morning (between 9:00 and 9:30) as the owl perched on and flew between the bales.  She said when her son goes to get a bale for the cattle he always sees a lot of mice running around so there appears to be plenty of food.  There were 2 male Northern Harriers in the area also.

Last evening, 3/14/18, about 7:00 I saw the Snowy Owl north of Gallier Road. It was on a corn bale about 1/4 mile from the road.

Searched for snowy around 230pm, no luck finding it but did have a mature bald eagle just east of Carter rd (1/2 mile east of hay bales from previous post) sitting in field eating something and an immature eagle circling which met up with the mature one and gave a good show as they flew together practicing the bonding flight that pairs do as they headed west.

Becky and I saw the Snowy Owl again Sunday at noon.  Still east of Dunbridge Rd., north of the round bales chasing a Killdeer across Newton Rd./CR 247.

At 7:40 pm I saw a Snowy Owl about 200 yrs north of the intersection of Poe Rd and Dunbridge Rd sitting in the field to the east of Dunbridge Rd. I headed south and saw a white bird fly to the top of a electrical pole near the Meijer gas station north of the intersection of East Wooster and Dunbridge Rd. It was a second Snowy Owl. Driving south on Dunbridge Rd I turned west on East Gypsy Lane Rd and located a third Snowy Owl in a field on the north side of the road close to I75.
